The Maibachl is a rare natural warm spring and an important ecological and cultural treasure of Villach. It is a place where people connect with nature, find peace, and experience a unique natural phenomenon that has existed for generations.
Planned construction projects in the protected Maibachl area threaten to permanently damage this sensitive ecosystem and destroy a part of Villach’s natural heritage.
We acknowledge the importance of flood protection. However, such measures must not come at the cost of an irreplaceable natural monument. There must be solutions that respect both public safety and environmental conservation.
The Maibachl belongs to all of us — and its protection is essential.
